Indulge in one of the most unique and magnificent outdoor activities known to man – Hot Air Ballooning.

Hot Air Ballooning is not just any activity and even more not something you do on a regular basis. For many it is “that” experience of a lifetime. It is truly extra special.

There is nothing that can describe the feeling of silently hovering high above the tree tops and earth far below, while enjoying a 360 degree birds eye view of the early morning horizons.

One of the best areas for Hot Air Ballooning, is the Skeerpoort Valley, located just west of the Hartebeespoort dam. This area boasts some of the best ballooning weather in the world and therefore an ideal setting for your Hot Air Ballooning Flight.

Flights depart early morning just after sun rise, due to the air still being stable at this time of the day. Passengers can expect refreshments upon their arrival, while they watch these magnificent balloons being set up.

Once these balloons are towering high up into the air (an eye-catching sight by itself), passengers will board the balloons for their one hour balloon flight. The hot air balloons slowly takes off one by one, carried by the wind, higher and higher. The balloons can fly anything from 1 millimetre up to 1 kilometre. The height of flight is solely determined by the wind and so is the direction. The pilot will steer the balloon’s altitude and search for a safe spot for landing, trying to perform the smoothest possible landing.

Passengers will then have the opportunity to disembark the balloon and sparkling wine will be served to celebrate. Everybody will have a moment to relax and enjoy the scenery, while the crew will pack up the balloons.

A mini-coach that followed the balloon all the way by road will collect all passengers and transfer everybody back to the departure base where a sumptuous English breakfast have been prepared and awaits all passengers.
